Do or Do Not

Written by Neil Franklin on September 21, 2007 – 10:31 pm

I was going to use "Just do it", but someone got there first!  I first heard the above phrase from an ex employee of mine at dataworkforce and it has stayed with me ever since.

I was talking to one of our senior recruiters at C-People and he had his record month of billing.  As exciting as it gets, it only serves to raise the expectations and benchmarks for the future, because if you can do it once….  He said that he would 'try'!  I quoted my favorite 'trying' phrase which is that there is in fact no 'trying', you just 'do it'.  There is a huge difference in how your mind perceives 'trying' and 'doing'.  In the first, you make and 'endeavor' with your mind and you have already preset the excuse for not achieving your result and the more you 'try', the more you train the mind to accept excuses.  Now with the word 'do', you have made a commitment with your mind to complete an action and believe it or not, it does not matter if you achieve the result, just that you commit to the action. As you progress, you will find that you will enjoy far more success and as the saying goes, 'success equals success'!

I've had a very busy three weeks working on health and fitness and golf projects and we have produced some excellent footage which will be released in DVD format soon.  My sincere thanks goes out to all the people at magic video for their professionalism and hard work, especially to John Albrecht, who made it happen!

The only problem now though, is that Crazy Jack and I are setting our sights on Hollywood!

    Neil,

Once again, you have inspired me to write. From now on, no matter how constipated I get, I am going to just do it. Too bad Elvis Presley couldn’t read and follow that advice. He might still be around today and almost as old as I am.

Hello Neil, I agree! Programming your mind should be so clean of other thoughts that you should set the idea, act upon and stick to the idea.
