We have actually completed the first draft of our book, The Inner Salesman! It has took us one week to write and we are busy putting the finishing touches to it and then - out to market!
The essence of the book is that you cannot teach someone how to sell, because you don't need to, it is a skill that we are all born with, but not necessarily utilize. We talk about how everyone should uncover and develop their own natural selling skills as it will help in all walks of life. Additionally, we talk about psychological factors and most importantly, how to confront and overcome fear - we actually learned this from our ex KGB friend Val Riazanov and remember, if it's good enough for the KGB…I must make a note to buy a copy!
Had a conversation with another businessman the other day about integrity - he was complaining about people he had helped out of the goodness of his heart, who had 'turned' on him, not repaying monetary debts and not honoring their word etc. I told him I was all too familiar with this as I have had very similar experiences. I told him to just let it go and move on - the people concerned will always have to live with themselves and literally every day of their lives, their subconscious will remind them - the truth always does and as the saying goes 'what goes around comes around'! It's always hard to let go and letting go does not mean you don't pursue what is rightly yours, it's more of a 'mental' moving on. The most important thing is that your own conscience is clear, you can live with yourself.
Finally, on the subject of integrity, it is something that you are born with, you cannot make it and it is something you die with!
