Scouts Honour

Just read some very worrying news in the UK press - seems that the old 'Boy Scouts' movement is experiencing it's own share of grief from the political correctness brigade!  At the recent Jamboree in Dorset, UK, they were banned from lighting fires and cooking sausages and burgers for fear of not being able to cater for all nationalities!  A spokesperson commented that they had to 'cater for all' and the food delivered included veggie burgers, fresh salads and jacket potatoes!!!!! There was also a quote from a serving RAF officer, who was also a Scout master, talking about how he is happy to serve his Queen and Country, but due to the levels of political correctness, he feels unable to carry on in the Scouts. Unbelieeeeevable!

I come from a military family and that meant discipline and the best polished shoes in my school class, despite being the tender age of eight!  When I was twelve, I joined the Army Cadet Force and stayed there until I was seventeen, when I then joined the Territorial Army.  I couldn't wait to get a start on 'Army life' and when I was fourteen, I would go on weekend exercises with regular soldiers (our OC was well connected) and would learn to fire rifles, machine guns and even anti tank weapons.  More importantly, I learned to look after myself and not worry about spending a whole weekend soaked to the skin as well as being frozen to the bone - I have no doubt that this served to strengthen my spirit and would provide a solid foundation for my 'iron will' in business.  If it were up to me, everyone would get to experience this type of 'youthful conditioning' - people would be better for it and they would certainly learn a lot more about themselves as well as basic discipline (which is far lacking in today's society) and an overall respect for others.

Back to business and Crazy Jack has just landed a major client for Franklin-Spirko, can't reveal too much yet - more to follow!

Stay tuned!
